Born in Rome but raised in Trentino, architect Nicola Chiavarelli has made the Dolomites in northwestern Italy the site where he likes to experiment and bring his ideas to life.
Having graduated from Venice’s IUAV University in 1989, he has been practising passive, eco-building techniques since before it became popular in the architecture world. Besides being a connoisseur of rural architecture, Nicola Chiavarelli is an expert in renovating buildings in the Alps. He is also a technical trainer for sustainable construction as well as a consultant for the Province of Trento (Provincia Autonoma di Trento). In the past, he has even collaborated as a designer for the National Trust of Italy (FAI).
